Course

This course discusses the 'treadmill of achievement' that high achievers often experience where they are always looking for the next goal, to achieve the next big milestone and in doing so, are never fully satisfied. The topic of being passive aggressive is also explored as well as the bringing together and aligning body and mind.

The question of how we react to threats and other social stimulus in our environment is explored in the Polyvagal course as well as looking at trauma in our lives and the impact that it can have on our nervous system. The primitive state of flight or flight is also outlined in this course and a useful Q and A sessions features at the end of the video.

Our society is overwhelmed by the large numbers who are living a SAD(Stress, Anxiety, Depression) reality. This holistic presentation covers the neurophysiology and interconnectedness of stress, anxiety and depression, how they work in the bodymind, and how they can impact us all.

We cover the symptoms of each and how our Autonomic Nervous System(ANS) is designed to assist in triggering the physical mental and emotional states that occur.

The topic is covered using the example of the issues of FIFO personnel but the information is universal to every one of us.

The Misunderstood Part of Ourselves.

This presentation outlines the classic and the latest neuroscience information about the nature of grief and grieving. We cover how survivors of the loss of loved ones and their families may react and inform how this understanding can assist in the healing process. We cover why the grief process may last for years and also be the trigger for other unresolved issues to surface and complicate the grieving.

Co-dependence is a condition where adults lose their independence and live variously through another person. This is a low esteem person who compensates by being with a 'special' person or a wounded person who gives them meaning and esteem by association. We are now beginning to understand the science of Developmental Trauma and how it applies to a persons childhood's developmental stages, and how that can create the basis for co-dependence in some adults. This course explores this topic and then looks at the Co-dependent personality and how they attract narcissistic and other wounded personalities as partners.
